Celebrating Maori Language week in new Zealand and on  Thursday, September 14,  which marks the day in 1972 that the Māori Language Petition was delivered to Parliament.

  Taking photos of Striking maori’s potraits

facing the camera?. Because the photographer and her wanted to show us her tattoos.
  1. What does moko kauae mean?
  Kauae means chin tattoo
  1. What is the Maori name for Bella?
Pera  means  Bella.


  1. How do we know that she was proud of her tattoos?  Because she is showing her tattoos she haves.


  1. Describe her clothing.  Irene wears both Maori and European clothing
  2. Why do you think the book is important enough to be in the photo?   The book might be important because it is probably about her life.
